Why I’m still on elten

Some of my friends keep asking me why I still use elten even though it has a lot of problems. I also know that there are users who didn’t want me to return since some things happened a few years ago. I don’t want to get into the stuff from my past right now, but I am going to talk about some of it in later posts. There are reasons why I logged back into my account a few months ago.
First things first, I’m not here to complain about elten. It has been done before and I’m sure that everybody knows these complaints by now. Elten has some huge problems which probably won’t be fixed. However, many of you still use it regularly, and that’s because it is still a great way for blind people to connect with one another. So today, I’m going to concentrate on the positive aspects of this social network.
When I reactivated my account one night, I actually just wanted to get some of my notes. I hadn’t made a backup, and I knew that I had written some pretty important things in here. My plan was to copy those notes quickly and log back out. But as many of you know, things don’t always go as planned. After getting all the stuff I actually needed, I started scrolling through old messages and posts, suddenly remembering things I thought I had already forgotten. Some of those things were depressing as hell, others made me feel nostalgic. The following nights, I read every single conversation, every message I ever sent. It was pretty weird at first, but after a while, I actually started thinking about that time. I realized a lot of things, understood what I did wrong and how much I had tried to be somebody I am not. The most important thing I realized is that I could have prevented a lot of the drama I had gotten into back then. And when I started posting again, I knew that I wanted to handle a lot of things differently.
There are people in this community who are always looking for arguments and fights. They like to troll, provoke and complain. I’ll be honest, that can be annoying. However, I just stopped responding to people who won’t listen. Of course, I still express my opinions, but I know when to stop. And that’s exactly what everyone has to learn if they want to make it in this community. It took me a while, but I actually like using elten again. If I hadn’t reactivated my account, I wouldn’t have reconnected with some of you. In my opinion, elten can be a place where people find others who understand them, especially because the social situation at school or at work isn’t easy for everyone. Even though many messed up things happened to me on this platform, I made some friends who are still important to me after all this time. The elten community is toxic sometimes, but if somebody really needs help, they will get it. The most important thing is to find out who you can trust. Of course it is possible to trust a wrong person. And if that happens, it is a mistake you can learn from. Being on elten is similar to navigating other social situations. This is why I still use it. I have grown up by now. I know what I want and how to talk to people, and I realized that there’s nothing wrong with those who just like to post on here. As long as we’re not trying to get into trouble, this program is safe to use.
I wrote this for everyone who thinks that I’m going to start new drama, just because I returned. You can think of me what you want, and you can even tell me what you want. I can handle it. But I’m just here to spend time with people I actually get along with, that’s all. I’m done with fighting about things that happened years ago. I’ve got a job, I’ve got friends and I’m happy with my current situation. The only thing I want is to use this program peacefully.

Just passing by to say that this blog is actually kinda nice to read, keep going. Can also relate to this post. Honestly people might think I haven’t changed a lot based on what they see from my outside, but I’m not here to defend myself or anything of that nature. At this point people kinda do their shit on here and I don’t really think it’s on others to judge unless it really affects them/is significantly against any rules. But yup, while I’m barely using Elten’s features anymore, it’s always nice to have it around to browse files, and honestly heil Charlie, the english forum has actually kinda improved again so why not stay for some conversations should they come around, nothing better to do either at this point.

And yup, as you said, one of the simplest reason, no more time for drama. Like literally it’s wild to me what some people make a deal about these days, I would’ve probably done the same in the past but at this point I really don’t have the time to even waste words on that stuff.

I totally agree with you. There are situations in which I know that I’m right, but I don’t have to defend my opinion for hours when I know that nobody cares. And then there are situations I simply don’t care about anymore. Sometimes, it doesn’t metter who’s right. There are many things to do in life, and fighting about random stuff doesn’t get you anywhere
